To buy this tent North Face tents used to be the most innovative, durable, and carefully stitched backcountry tents in the business, IMHO. Nothing lasts forever though, and it's been years since anyone has mentioned North Face as a cutting edge gear supplier.
The North Face Tadpole 23 is very strong tent that's very heavy for the amount of space it provides. It uses a three pole design that was popular in the 1990's but has largely been replaced by other designs that offer more space for less weight. I was recently caught in a 12 hour continuous downpour and the tent remained dry. Water found its way above the ground cloth, but thanks to the beefy floor on all North Face tents, the interior stayed dry.
